With dry capsules and tablet brakes



The closure is equipped with a desiccant capsule (Dricap®) containing 1g of silica gel. The closures are supplied in moisture impermeable packaging. The maximum storage period in this packaging is 1 year under cool and dry climatic conditions. The desiccant can absorb a maximum of 30 % of its own weight in moisture. (Important: once a package unit has been opened it should be used immediately. The potential desiccant performance decreases with the duration of contact with atmospheric humidity.) The jacket of the desiccant capsule is made from cellulose acetate which is fully permeable to water vapour and thereby ensures the function of the hygroscopic fill material.

The desiccant capsule (Dricap®) is secured in the screw cap with clamping studs. No adhesive is used. The closure system can additionally be fitted with a bellows-type spacer which exerts light pressure on the fill material and thereby (assuming an adequate filling level) restricts the possible movement of the fill material and thus serves as a transport safety mechanism. Air exchange to the desiccant capsule remains assured.

For customers not using a bellows-type spacer but who nevertheless require 100% certainty that no desiccant capsule enters the fill material (for example due to extreme storage or transport conditions), an additional safety cover can be fitted instead of the bellows-type spacer.
